This book was soooo good. This was the fourth in the series the first three being The Locker Room, The Dugout and The Lineup. I was really excited to read this book because I loved the first three though the first two bothered me with their long breaks. Once I read the third though I realized that the author was only putting them through these long breaks to get them far enough away from college that they could stay together which is interesting but oh well. This book definitely did not disappoint. We met Natalie, one of the main characters, in the last book because she was that main characters brother and I really liked her from that so I was excited to see her story and Cory was a figure in the last two books because his sister was the main character in The Dugout. It was really nice seeing these two characters that were heavily featured in the previous books get their own story and what a story it was. Cory was so sweet and dreamy and it was so nice between him and Natalie until that argument. I must say that Meghan Quinn always does a great job at writing heartbreaking breakups but this one really took the cake. I really felt this one and it hurt me and I couldn’t stop until I got to the end of the book. This book was heavily involved with previous characters and Meghan Quinn does such a great job at integrating old characters without changing them so they really are exactly how I expect them to be. This book was so good and I give it 5 cups of tea! – Hannah

I hate to say this, but I didn’t like this book. I don’t think all of the recipes are necessary, if anything they annoy me because they get in the way The writing made me feel awkward, like a badly acted hallmark movie. Forty-five percent through the book and I didn’t want to continue. This novel was confusing and the sex scene was too awkward to read. This book felt so unrealistic, and are you serious? Knowing how someone felt while cooking what you’re eating? Overall, I didn’t like this book, I didn’t like the writing style I didn’t like the plot and I didn’t like the characters, I’m hoping some of the recipes were good. I have suggestions for other books with a similar theme that I enjoyed, below.

Suggestions:
The Opposite of You by Rachel Higginson
Hyde and Seek by Layla Frost
Perfection by R.L. Mathewson- okay so its the opposite because she can’t cook at all, but I really love this book
Overall I definitely enjoyed this book, I had a few issues that I’ll get to later but those might be just because I’m nit-picky. I really liked the main characters, Lucy and Josh, I thought they were a really cute pair. I really liked the beginning of the book because it lays out the story so well by telling you that there’s so much similarity in love and hate and it really sets the tone for the rest. The beginning also really eased the reader in without overwhelming them. I read a book recently that there were so many names in the beginning I couldn’t keep my head straight so it was nice to see this book didn’t. I also felt that the characters were extremely well developed and I wasn’t surprised by any of their choices. I think the biggest thing that I enjoyed was the continuance of the games throughout the book that along with the title they were consistently playing different games with each other and they both knew it. Moving on to the things that I didn’t enjoy as much. I think my biggest issue was the pace of the book. I felt that parts were lagging whereas others moved too fast and generally there was a lack of transitions. The writing was really good but then we’d switch to a new scene and the transition if it wasn’t a new chapter was really choppy. I also felt that Lucy was a bit too wishy washy for me, that she kept swinging back and forth with how she felt which is also kind of a positive because it was a consistent character quality just kind of irritating to me but oh well. Overall, I enjoyed the book and though Josh was so sweet so I give it 4 cups of tea! – Hannah
Overall I liked the book and thought that it was a good read, but like Hannah I did have a few issues. I thought that the book was well written and the characters were developed in a way that allowed the reader to really get to know them as people. I also liked how the book was really about them and their relationship as opposed to other books which focus heavily on secondary chapters as well as outside issues. Even though this book had an undercurrent of their upcoming promotion, the author didn’t beat that point to death. I loved Josh and how patient he was and I loved Lucy for her quirks that weren’t too out there to not be believable. I do wish that this book was told in dual point of view, but maybe that’s a me thing because I tend to enjoy books where I get to see both stories. The main thing that I disliked about the book was that there were parts that seemed fragmented and lacked flow, which made the story line a little but hard to follow. I also would have loved an epilogue, which again, may just be a me thing. All in all, I thought this was a good book that was well written and it had a plot line that I haven’t read before so I give it 4 cups of tea! -Zoe
I’ve read this book four times, and each time I start at the beginning, normally in books I’m rereading I start later because I know the set up and stuff, but with this novel I don’t find the beginning boring or not necessary, I enjoy it! I LOVED the writing style it felt very much like how I think, I never think while I’m reading, I don’t want to sound like I don’t process what I’m listening to, but I try to remain as the character and how they think and I WAS Lucy for this book. I love that I cry every time I read the book which really proves how much the writing speaks to me. Not breaking up is always a plus. There just this way of how sally Thorne wraps up the story with a nice ribbon that I just love, and she does it without an epilogue! I normally can’t say this, but I didn’t hate anything at all! Overall, super cute office romance, with an awesome hate to love transition!
This novel was generously given to me early by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review! Thank you, Netgalley!
I liked this book! I enjoyed the character development, and Orla and Aiden were good together. I felt as though knew the characters, and what they would do. The epilogue was fantastic! It was a slow start but after the first 20% of the novel, it went really fast, I read the rest in a sitting. At times Orla was slightly annoying, but Aiden and the rest of the book made up for the slight annoyance. I really liked the banter between Aiden and Orla, and the passion between them was written really well. Overall, fun and quick read, that was well written!
Okay what a great book. I really liked the plot from the beginning really interesting and very different. When I first started the book I was a little thrown because I didn’t realize it was set in England and some of the slang used so I had to adjust a little. Though honestly I enjoyed the fact that it was in England I tend to find that more of an interesting setting than somewhere in the US. The beginning was a bit confusing because there were a lot of names and things happening but I did like that you as a reader are completely thrown into the story line. Especially when she comes home to Dan and they have their conversation. Okay I must say that I love a fake relationship that becomes real storyline so this was completely up my alley. Especially when they have to go visit his parents. I have to say that Mhairi McFarlane is such a great writer and she does such a great job of showing what’s happening with Jamie and everything through Laurie’s eyes. I also thought it was an interesting way of writing to be third person but limited knowledge through Laurie. Also, I think this book does a great job at leaving no stone unturned, every conflict that was opened by the end was concluded. I just have to say that Jamie is soooooo cute and sweet and I just really liked them together in general. My only issue with this book was that I felt like pieces of it moved too slow, like there were pieces that could have been shorter or not as much time spent in Laurie’s head. Okay one last tiny issue, I wish there had been an epilogue because there were a couple things that I wish had been told after. Overall, I really liked it so I give this book 4.5 cups of tea! – Hannah
Okay so this book was cute but a bit too sappy for me which I think might be the general theme with this series (Ice Daddy and Forbidden Puck). I have to say that I really enjoyed the plot, it was different than the rest of the books in the series which I enjoyed. I was glad that this book was back into the first person after the last one being in the third person. Also I thought Shea and Brynn made a cute pair and his kids were really cute too especially Chloe. I will say that there’s I preferred a different book with a similar plot which I recommend, The Marriage Effect. Overall, it was cute though a little sappy and parts were strange so I give it 3.5 cups of tea. – Hannah
Okay so parts of this book were cute but others were really cringey. Also, this is a sequel to the book Forbidden Puck. Okay so I thought the story was cute and it was a quick easy read and pretty entertaining. Also I liked seeing this redeeming moment for Lance because the last book really made him the villain and he kind was the worst so at least this one make him seem like a better human. So on the flip side, the relationship between Lance and Paige was really weird. It moved way too fast just like the last book which sometimes is enjoyable but in this case it didn’t even seem that natural. Like there were moments where I was like I get this but then other moments where it was like this is kind of ridiculous and just generally too sappy and corny. So most of the time it was kind of cringey how they were talking to each other and the whole situation with their daughter. Anyway, overall it was a decent read just not my favorite so I give it 3 cups of tea. – Hannah
Okay this book was really cute. I had a few issues but overall it was pretty good. I really liked Ryan I thought he was a great character and super complex, he had a lot of feelings and was super sweet. I also liked Ella but not as much because I sometimes found her feelings a bit confusing and her whole lying thing was a bit much like listen I also don’t lie but I’m not so uptight about it. Also Lance was literally the worst and I’m excited for the next book to see if he redeems himself. I think generally my only thing was that he said I love you so fast which was really weird. I mean it was at the end of the book but the whole book took place over a course of like 3 days which was really bazaar. So honestly, I think my only critique was that it moved so fast for 3 days and it felt like a lot longer than that which was why I bumped it from 5 to 3.5. But otherwise I thought it was a really cute story and I will read the next one in the series.Overall, I give it 3.5 cups of tea because it was good but not amazing. – Hannah
This book was really sweet and good. First of all, this is part of the Carolina Reapers Series which features: Sawyer, Connell and Logan. I was super excited to read this book because I loved the rest of the series and the Seattle Sharks series which this is a spin off of. I think Samantha Whiskey does a great job at creating a real romance between the main characters and this book is no exception to that general rule. I loved the plot it was great except for the part that he kept feeling like he didn’t deserve her, that drove me crazy. Half the book was in his head with him just saying the same thing over and over again that she could do so much better. Just generally not a fan because I’m of the mindset of everyone can make their own decisions but oh well. Generally though the relationship between Persephone and Cannon was so nice to see because it has been hinted at for so long in this series ever since she fell on him. Also Cannon is just such a great guy and what a great back story for him and even for Persephone. The author did such a great job of humanizing her as well because though she was super rich she had a bit of an edge to her. Maybe this was just me because I was slightly separated from the series but something just felt a little off and I think that was because there wasn’t as much of the outside life as the rest of the series. This one was really about Cannon and Persephone not the whole team which is good but also felt kind of isolated. Also what happened to Porter????? Anyway, overall I really liked this one, I give it 4 cups of tea. – Hannah
Okay this book was really cute. I was very excited to start it because I love Meghan Quinn and I think she’s a great writer and she did not disappoint. I really liked the story and I especially liked the way they met in the beginning. The plot was very interesting because it was pretty interesting, a marriage for convenience is pretty common in romance novels but the things that lead up to this one are pretty different. I really do like Meghan Quinn’s style in that she sets up the prologue for somewhere in the future and then you find it at some point, it really keeps you going to see how the characters get there and when you do you’re like this makes complete sense. I did have a few issues with the book mainly that I didn’t really care for the fact that SPOILER** they don’t get married until the epilogue, like I feel like it was a bit of a tease and I would have preferred them getting married and then finding everything out because also I feel like they wouldn’t have been able to break up but that’s just not Meghan Quinn’s style.**SPOILER Anyway, overall it was a good book so I give it 4 cups of tea. – Hannah
