The novel was great! I enjoyed the fusion of Dominican culture without focusing on it too much, I don’t remember if Jess had a book, but I she did I don’t remember reading it. I love GG so I thought it was wonderful that he had a book. This book should have a trigger warning, there are themes of child molestation and rape, so I have warned you. I thought the way author wrote about those themes was tasteful and moved the plot along. There was a lot of detail in this book, but the details made me feel like I was there instead of distracting me. I read the whole book in a day, I was so invested in Angelina and GG that I couldn’t put the book down. I found the plot intriguing and original even though the characters were not directly related the to the Argeneau family, GG was mentioned several times so it felt like a continuation of their story. Overall, cute and cultured Argeneau love story!

I liked this one! It wasn’t my favorite in the entire series but it was a really good one. I was really excited to start this book and so happy that I got to read it early because I’m such a huge fan of this series as I’m sure if you listen to our podcast are aware of. I was really happy to see that G.G. was getting his own story but honestly I was a bit confused at the beginning because I forgot to read the blurb so I thought it was going to be Ildaria/Angelina and that FBI guy Jack. Honestly, I liked that she had the FBI guy come back to close that plot hole but it honestly was unnecessary but oh well. I also felt like the plot was a little predictable because I totally knew the ending but I won’t spoil that here. Both characters were just so sweet that it was a really nice read and a good follow up to the series. I think that as usual Lysnay Sands did a great job at telling you how to feel about a character while reading it so even when the truth all comes out you still are gung ho with what you want. All in all it was a good read and really cute so I give it 4 cups of tea! – Hannah

I loved the novel! I loved the continuation of the characters from the other books in the series! I always appreciate when characters have internal struggles instead of them fighting. Bethany’s struggles with perfection fit perfectly with the character we knew from the previous novels, the author did a wonderful job of giving the reader an inside perspective of her adversity. The reader was also informed of Wes’s misfortunes, like growing in foster care and his trust issues. There were a only a couple things that I thought didn’t fit; I didn’t think their age difference made sense, especially because Wes seemed more mature even with his foster care background and maybe I missed this, but what happened with Becky selling the house? Over all, cute read, I read it in one day it was so intriguing, and if you liked the other books in this series, you’ll love this novel!

Wow what a great book!!! I think this was my favorite one in the series the first two in the series being Fix Her Up and To Love Her or Lose Her. I’d always been really interested in Bethany from the first book so I’ve been looking forward to this book for a really long time and it did not disappoint. Also, hints were dropped in the last book that it would be Bethany and Wes and they already seemed like a great match so I was really ready to start this book. I really liked the plot of this book I thought it was really different even from the other two books and I literally couldn’t put it down. Wes was so sweet and it was incredible how we would talk Bethany off the ledge. I think it was such a positive to have a kid involved in the plot as well it really added to the whole story and gave their relationship real depth as well. I really liked the fact that Bethany was venturing out and doing her whole house versus just the staging part. I felt that it was a little unrealistic how they got the tv show but oh well, it really added to the plot. I just also feel like all of us can relate to Bethany in some way with all the internal demons and I think that’s what set this book apart for me. Overall, I absolutely loved this book so I give it 5 cups of tea! – Hannah

Playing to Win

This book was good! I received a free copy of the audiobook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you NetGalley! The audiobook was really good and very easy to listen to. I had never listened to a book before that had two narrators, one for the female character and one for the male. While I enjoyed that for when they were doing their own voices I felt like it was especially weird when the male narrator would read women’s dialogue. It just sounded kind of weird but I understand why they had to do it like that. Overall the book was really good and I thought the characters were well developed and fit together. My one thing though is that I’m still confused as to what exactly happened while they were in college like it’s mostly just alluded to and never discussed directly. Like I understand that the author didn’t want to have them stuck in the past but as a reader having that backstory might have been a little helpful. Overall, I liked it even though I found the plot a little bland so I give it 4 cups of tea! – Hannah

Roman

I was super excited to start this book because it’s the newest Samantha Whiskey book and anyone who pays attention to anything I write will know that I am a huge fan of hers. I was also excited once I read the description because I love a good best friends to more story and I was interested to see her take on it when I had serious issues with Meghan Quinn’s version. This book tackled it in pretty much the best way possible. There is a bit of a trigger warning involved with this book because it does involve abuse so if that’s something that makes you uncomfortable steer clear of this one. I think all in all the abuse was handled very well and it was realistic how it came back in flashbacks. Roman was an incredible guy and I thought him and Teagan were really cute together and overall the story was really good and touching. I was a little confused as to how her supposed best friend didn’t notice the extent to which Rick’s abuse was going on especially because even in the last book (Nixon) I was able to pick up on it as an observer. Also you never really find out why he can’t have kids it’s kind of just thrown in there as a reason why they can’t be together even though it’s quickly dismissed. Also it honestly seemed like a combination of a lot of books including The Change Up and A Secret for a Secret. Overall I really enjoyed it so I give it a 4.5! – Hannah

The Change Up

I was really excited to start this book because I love the author and the series in general (The Locker Room, The Dugout, The Lineup and The Trade). I was also excited to see that it was Maddox because we’ve been seeing this character in the previous books for so long so it was nice to see he was getting his own story. I kind of had a tough time with this book so I’ll start with what I liked and then move onto what I didn’t. First off I’ll say that as characters I thought they were great and really developed especially Kinsley. I thought she was a super strong great character even though she did have her moments. I think Meghan Quinn did a great job at really beefing up that character so you knew how she would respond in every situation and all of her quirks. I also thought they made a really cute couple, they were really good together and it showed in the writing how much they cared for each other. Moving to the things that I didn’t like so much though unfortunately there was more than I was used to with Meghan Quinn. First of all I found the book to just generally be too long it really could have been shortened in a lot of parts. I also just felt like Maddox was like upset when she needed him to be upset. Like it was a lot of her doing something him getting mad even though him getting mad at her seemed out of character and then him apologizing. Also the thing with his brother just felt really forced because it was never really cleared up at all. I think my biggest issue in general was that because they were already so close before the book starts there wasn’t really much content within the book like I just felt like something was missing. But oh well maybe Lincoln’s (let’s hope his story is next) story will be a bit better. All in all I give it 3.5 cups of tea. – Hannah

A Secret for A Secret

I absolutely loved this book! It was so good and cute and overall just great. I think Kingston might be the cutest/sweetest character to ever be in a book. He was so incredible with everything and honestly Queenie was also a great character. I think together they made a great couple and I loved all the challenges and roadblocks they had to deal with and that they dealt with it as a team. I really enjoyed the fact that instead of really internal difficulties as in within their relationship, it was really them facing the world around them. I really enjoyed that because it made the book way more interesting than dealing with say a reluctant character who doesn’t want to be in a relationship or something like that. I also thought that the relationship between King and his “momster” was incredible and I really hope that we get to see if she ends up with Queenie’s dad at some point maybe the next book. It was really cute to see them interacting at the end. Overall, I really loved this book and definitely recommend. Side note it is the third in a series and the other characters are mentioned but it can totally be read alone. The other two books are A Lie for a Lie and A Favor for a Favor. I give this book 5 steaming hot cups of tea! – Hannah

Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I was really excited to start this book because I really liked the description and it did not disappoint. I really liked Hadley and Max I thought they were great characters and they had a lot of chemistry. I thought the writing style was really interesting that it was only first person from her and then third person during from his perspective. I found that a little confusing to be honest because all of a sudden it was switched to third person and I was a little lost but I did like getting his perspective. The humor was great there were a couple of times that I snorted while reading so I enjoyed that part. I really liked the plot and I thought it was really different and I liked that the “villain” was outside the two characters. As much as Max was his own villain LOL. I thought it was a little weird that they like kissed once and then all of a sudden they were talking about a relationship and how she can’t do dating. Side note, I loved the references to the country musicians throughout that was a great touch. Also, really liked that they didn’t break up! Max saw right through Leo which was great. Overall I just thought it was super cute and I really enjoyed it but I felt like something might have been a little missing for me as to how they really got together. I give this one four cups of tea! – Hannah

Thank you so much Samantha Whiskey for providing me an early copy of the book  in exchange for an honest review!

This was a great book! I’m a huge fan of Samantha Whiskey, I read and reviewed all of her hockey books and I’m so excited about this follow up. I was really excited when I found out who the book was about because we’ve been hearing about this character for a while and he was featured in the last book as well as Liberty. The plot was great, not quite original but I enjoyed it all the same. I think this book just does a really great job at setting up further books in the series. I can tell who’s going to end up together in further books and I’m looking forward to further stories. Especially Teagan and Roman I’m really excited for that book. All in all I thought Nixon and Liberty were a really cute couple. The conflict was really tough for me and it might have just been because I didn’t really understand her side because the idea of going to a village in the middle of nowhere while pregnant just doesn’t entice me but oh well. Nixon was just super sweet and he was so incredible that he was willing to do what he was and I’m so glad they figured it out. All in all it was a really good book and it did touch me enough that I cried so I give it 4.5 cups of tea! – Hannahgiphy.gif

Well Met

This book was really cute! I was really excited to read it because I had heard good things about it even though it was Jen DeLuca’s first book. I really liked the topic because it was really different and something completely new. I also thought the writing style was great, very similar to Tessa Bailey to be honest. The incorporation of the title into the book was also really well done and just on point. The exposition of the plot was so well done that you really want to find out all the reasons for why they are the way they are. Like the fact that it takes us a while to find out her story and why she’s so cautious and the same goes for him. I thought Simon and Emily just made a great couple and I really liked seeing how having a character to play changes the way that a person acts. Overall just a really great plot and story. I thought it was a little weird how quickly they fell in love which is why I couldn’t give this a 5. Very cute so I give it 4 cups of tea! – Hannah

5 pyte cups of tea!

Sooo good I totally loved it, I loved the epilogue. The characters were well developed, I loved Madison. I found her hilarious and an accurate representation of a child who had act as a mother to her siblings. Ephraim’s character was also well developed, and he was written as if he was from the 1800s in England. The plot was great and kept you entertained, the only thing was that the book was very long, not that I have an issue with that, but it felt like it was two books but they weren’t separated. It felt as though there were multiple climax moments. I enjoyed the limited omniscient point of view, I hadn’t read something like this in a while. Most books like this are written in first person and then they alternate characters, this was almost the same except it was limited omniscient.

I thought this book was very interesting and different than a lot of other Vampire books I read. I really liked the different topic and the story telling was really interesting. I liked the history aspect and the creation of a whole new universe essentially. I really liked the sense of humor throughout the book it was really strong and Chris was a great addition to the story. Overall I liked the book, though I thought parts of it were really weird and it was a bit too long for me. I just felt like parts of it could have been cut and it honestly felt like maybe two or three stories in one. Like I felt like everything with Chris really could have been a whole other story rather than wrapping it into this one. Also I wish there was a bit more explanation earlier on as to what a Pyte was and what a Sentinel was. I’m still confused a little as to why he’s a Pyte and why that’s different. So overall I liked it and give it 4 cups of tea. – Hannah

In full transparency, this is not the first time that I’ve read this book, and every time I read it I love it still! I loved how they were real people (a guess minus the vampire thing), with real issues and baggage. Ephraim is a great hero and never gives up on his love for Madison. This book is a little bit funny, and full of love. I really liked all the characters and the writing style. I enjoyed that this book was different from some of the other vampire books I’ve read and it kept me entranced the whole time, even when it was my third read through! – Zoe
