After the Bite

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I love this series so I was really excited to start this one but I’ve also gotten to the point where I’m not sure where else we can go from here. And yet Lynsay Sands always finds a way because this one felt honestly refreshing and new. I liked the plot behind why they were protecting Natalie and I found that the characters were really developed and fit together well. This book had one of the better meet cutes if you ask me as well I thought it was kind of touching that they met when he had to return the golf cart and then the plot really took off from there. My one main issue with this book is that there was just far too much internal dialogue compared to action and actual dialogue between the characters. I also felt that things moved really quickly at the end to the point that the end was a blur even though it was kind of the heart of the conflict of the book. Overall I liked this one! Definitely a solid Argeneau book and I give it 3.5/4 cups of tea! – Hannah

All the Feels

It was great, I loved the internal conflicts along with the conflicts between the two characters. I loved the vocabulary, this book made me feel like I wasn’t reading a trashy romance, but a novel with steamy encounters. The mental health awareness in this novel was fantastic as well. Overall, loved it and you didn’t need the previous books in the series to read this one! I love reading series out of order and this didn’t make me think I should go back and read the other book! If you did read the other novel, Marcus and April were in this book too!

Mile High with a Vampire

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Wow this one was so good. I feel like there had been a slight decline in the quality of the books but this one was really a return to form if you will. I loved the plot. It was so different from what she had previously written and I loved the call back to previous books. I was super curious about Quinn after Pet’s book so it was great to see that she gets a happy ending as well. Also what a character Jet was. The only ding I have on the book was that I found Quinn sometimes to be annoying because of her insistence on pushing Jet away but I felt like it was important to her growth as a character which I really did enjoy. I also loved Mary being more heavily involved because I feel like we haven’t seen that much of her since her own story and I honestly forgot that she was a psychologist. I don’t know why but I just thought this one was so good and I loved the shared dreams where they got to know each other better. It was just really sweet and cute and Jet and Quinn make a great couple. Overall I give this one 5 cups of tea. – Hannah

I really liked how we were back to the old style of her books and the author wasn’t trying anything too deep. I enjoyed looking back at Quinn and Pet’s backstory because it’s been a while since I read Pet’s book and I don’t think I ever fully understood what was going on. I loved both the characters, especially Jet he was such a good guy throughout the whole book. To summarize, this novel was a cute continuation of one of my favorite romance series! – Phoebe

- Is she even Italian? - Her name is Bella.
Classic Twilight quote because this is a vampire book and I couldn’t resist

The Layover

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I will say that going into reading this book I was very excited. I thought that the plot sounded great and I just hoped that it was kind of similar to the Hating Game, Shipped and Unhoneymooners. In the end though it was only slightly similar and I was kind of disappointed. I’ll start with what I enjoyed about the book. I’ll give the author credit because she really set up all the characters and the settings. The writing itself was very good and I had no issues with it. I also thought the ending was very touching so I enjoyed that. Also, Jack was a great character. He was super sweet and funny and read very cute. Lastly, the comedy was very good each character had quippy one liners and I really appreciated that. On to the things that I didn’t care for as much. I must say that I did not enjoy that she was engaged when she left and I didn’t get a feeling that she was in a relationship from the book description. It was kind of annoying because realistically she would not be ready to get into another long term relationship so soon after ending her relationship. I just generally feel like there was a lot missing. There were so many plot points and I feel like so much was dropped and the speed of the whole thing gave me whiplash. Overall, it was cute but just okay so I give it 3 cups of tea.

The Soulmate Equation

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Okay I want to start this off with the fact that I’m a big Christina Lauren fan. The Unhoneymooners is one of my favorite books and I re-read it often. I really liked the plot, and the characters were great. I loved the relationship between Jess and Fizzy. I also liked the idea that they really drove home that there’s a pressure that comes with “knowing” someone is your soulmate. I liked how developed the characters were and their relationship with each other and the growing attraction between Jess and River. I also had a few issues with the book though because I found there to be a really big pacing issue. The beginning, for me at least, moved way too slowly. It took forever to get to the inciting moment. Once we really got down to it I enjoyed it a lot more but that was already like 20% into the book. Also, I felt like the end was a little rushed and I did not like the conflict at all because we still don’t know if they’re “soulmates” or not but then again I guess that was the point, that it doesn’t really matter. Overall, it was good but not my favorite. – Hannah

Meant to Be Immortal

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I absolutely love this series so when I saw this book was available I immediately requested it. I also was really excited after reading the description and how different it was from the latest books because I feel like they haven’t had to explain the whole immortal thing in a while so it was fun to have that. I really liked this one, it was cute and sweet. I liked the plot because it was really different than any other in this series. I find it incredible that Lynsay Sands after so many in these series is still able to come up with such original stories. Though I think at this point I need a family tree of some sort because I’m not sure how everyone’s related though I love that Marguerite is everywhere. I’m waiting for us to go back to Port Henry to see what’s going on with Stephanie though. I think my only real issue with the whole book was the pacing. It moved too slowly in the beginning but the end was almost too fast. Overall, it was really good! I give it 4 cups of tea. – Hannah

Shipped

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I really liked this book! I thought it had a great plot and the writing was really good. I was immediately interested in the book because the description compared it to The Unhoneymooners (one of my favorite books) and The Hating Game (which we’ve recorded a podcast on). I really liked both of those books so I was pulled into this one. I must say that I love the kind of story where the characters hate each other, or just like in The Hating Game there’s only really one person who is hating. I just love when it’s all because of a miscommunication and this one was done really well. I thought the ending was really good as well but as usual I would have loved an epilogue. I feel like at times though it was almost a direct rip off of the books mentioned especially The Hating Game. Like sometimes it just felt identical but otherwise it was its own unique story. I did like the plot that they go on the cruise together though at times I was really confused as to why Walsh was with them. It wasn’t until the end that I understood Walsh’s part in the whole story, before that it was kind of like and why is she here? In general I thought there were some great side characters but at times I just didn’t understand their purpose at the moment they were mentioned. Overall I really liked Graeme (still don’t know how to actually pronounce the name) and Henley they were really cute and nice characters. I give this book 4 cups of tea!

Hendrix

Unfortunately, I found this book to be really disappointing. I love Samantha Whiskey (as you can tell if you look at my posts) but I think this was my least favorite book of hers yet. I’ll start with the positives before I dive into the negatives though. I do love this series and the general people involved and the characters were relatively well developed. I think my major issues was that the author relied far too much on the previous books for establishing the characters so there was no character establishment in the book at all. I just felt no real connection to them at all. Usually, Samantha Whiskey does a great job setting it all up but I just felt slightly too thrown into the plot. Usually there’s a little buildup but there was almost none in this case. Overall, it was decent but just not up to how good I know that her books can be so I give it 3 cups of tea. – Hannah

The Setup

Wow what a book, I laughed, I cried and then I laughed again. Anyone who reads these posts knows that I’m an unapologetic Meghan Quinn fan (I’ve read every one of her books in this series). This one did not disappoint. I think this might have been my favorite one so far. I was super excited to read this book because as I stated above I love this series but also we’ve been seeing Lincoln in the more recent books especially in the last one and it was really nice to see this guy who was always super sweet get his happy ending. I didn’t realize that it was going to be almost entirely at college until I started reading and realized but that’s on me because I just jumped right in without really reading the blurb. I loved his moms they might have been my favorite part of the whole book, just fantastic side characters. No one can construct a story like Meghan Quinn with so many characters that you love and wish you get to eventually see their stories too. In some ways I found the breakup moment to be more devastating but in other ways I found it easier. It’s Meghan Quinn so there’s always going to be some sort of breakup/parting of ways and I honestly am always dreading the moment that I know will come. The only thing about this whole book that I didn’t like was the pacing, I felt that it dragged a bit in the middle even as she was trying to speed it up and then I felt that the ending was a bit rushed. Other than that though it was a great book, 5 cups of tea! – Hannah
