I was super excited to start this book because it’s the newest Samantha Whiskey book and anyone who pays attention to anything I write will know that I am a huge fan of hers. I was also excited once I read the description because I love a good best friends to more story and I was interested to see her take on it when I had serious issues with Meghan Quinn’s version. This book tackled it in pretty much the best way possible. There is a bit of a trigger warning involved with this book because it does involve abuse so if that’s something that makes you uncomfortable steer clear of this one. I think all in all the abuse was handled very well and it was realistic how it came back in flashbacks. Roman was an incredible guy and I thought him and Teagan were really cute together and overall the story was really good and touching. I was a little confused as to how her supposed best friend didn’t notice the extent to which Rick’s abuse was going on especially because even in the last book (Nixon) I was able to pick up on it as an observer. Also you never really find out why he can’t have kids it’s kind of just thrown in there as a reason why they can’t be together even though it’s quickly dismissed. Also it honestly seemed like a combination of a lot of books including The Change Up and A Secret for a Secret. Overall I really enjoyed it so I give it a 4.5! – Hannah
