The Bombshell Effect

This book was really cute! At first I thought it was going to be similar to Million Baller Baby but I think besides her inheriting the team that was the only real similarity. So I guess I jumped the gun a little. Anyway, this book was really cute and sweet. I really liked the characters of Allie and Luke. They were really developed especially Allie, I thought her character was super interesting and I liked how Paige was brought into the book. I also really liked Faith, what a kid. The way she was playing matchmaker was great and it was so cute and innocent. I will say though that I was a little confused as to how easily they came up with the terms of their agreement, like usually there’s a lot more hesitation before just jumping into something like that but oh well. Also at first I found Allie to be a little to vain but after a bit that thankfully started to fade out. I think my biggest issue though was the fact that it kept being hinted at the problems with her father but there was no real moment between Allie and Luke where they talked about it. Like he had so many misconceptions about her and they seemed to fizzle out with little hints about her life with her dad but I would have loved to have them have a real moment where she lays everything out on the table but oh well. I just have to say though that I love how Karla Sorensen wrote Faith and Allie’s interactions I really liked that she treated her how she would have liked to have been treated. It was a really nice touch. Overall, I give it 4 cups of tea! – Hannah
